This bonus 28-day $40 recharge is not one you want to miss! The 2nd recharge is automatically added on day 28 and the 3rd recharge is automatically added on day 56.

Q. How do I get this offer?
A. You must buy a specially marked SIM in any Optus Store and activate this SIM onto the Prepaid Epic Data plan. Once you activate onto this plan you will be included in the special offer and your first $40 for use within 28 days will start. On day 28, Optus will add your 2nd $40 recharge to your service. On day 56, Optus will add your 3rd $40 recharge to your service. You cannot change the day the recharges are added.
Q. I bought my $40 SIM in a non-Optus store. Can I get this offer?
A. No, this offer is only available for specially marked SIMs in Optus stores. Coles, WW, Kmart, Officeworks, Target, Big W, petrol and convenience stores and online are excluded from this offer.
Q. My number is with another provider – can I keep it on this offer?
A. Yes of course! Just make sure you are the account holder and have your ID with you. If your current number is on a contract you will need your account number (make sure you are aware of any cancellation fees with your current provider).
Q. I’m already an Optus customer on a different plan – can I get this offer?
A. Yes you can. You must do a rate plan change to the Optus Prepaid Epic Data plan first though! You can do this by texting ‘Menu’ to 9999 and following the prompts to rate plan change. If you have an Auto Recharge set up, make sure that you cancel it.
Q. Will Optus tell me when my recharges will be applied?
A. Yes Optus will send you a reminder message, as well as a confirmation message when your recharges have been applied.
Q. What happens if I change my plan before the recharges have been applied?
A. If you rate plan change at any time before day 56 you are ineligible for the remaining recharges. You must rate plan change back to the Prepaid Epic Data plan to receive them.
Q. What happens after the third recharge has been applied?
A. Once your third recharge has been applied you will need to manually recharge once that recharge has expired. You can do this through the My Optus app, online or via 9999.
Q. My recharge hasn’t been applied on day 28 and/or day 56 – what do I do?
A. Hang tight, it might take a few hours to process. If it hasn’t been applied you can call customer care and log a case on 1800 555 002.
Q. I didn’t have time to activate my SIM in store and need to do it at home – what do I do?
A. You need to go to optus.com.au/activate and follow the prompts. Make sure you select ‘Optus Prepaid Epic Data’ as your plan in step 4. When you get to step 5 you will need to untick the Auto Recharge button as well.
Q. What happens if I don’t untick the Auto Recharge button?
A. Auto-Recharge will automatically debit your selected account as per your agreement. So if you set up an Auto-Recharge every 28 days, your account will be debited every 28 days and your promo SIM recharges will also be applied every 28 days. To avoid this, untick the Auto-Recharge button in step 5. If you want to set up an Auto-Recharge you can do this after day 56.
Q. I’m an existing customer on Prepaid Epic Data and I’ve bought this SIM – how do I get the offer?
A. The sales consultant will perform a SIM swap for you. When the SIM swap goes through your first $40 recharge will be applied e.g. if you are on day 14 of your recharge and you activate this new SIM, you forfeit your remaining days of your current recharge and your first $40 recharge will be applied. Any data you had left on your recharge will roll over up to 50GB but streaming data does not roll over. If you have an Auto-Recharge set up, remember to cancel this.
Q. I’m an existing customer on a different rate plan and I’ve bought this SIM – how do I get the offer?
A. You will have to perform a rate plan change first before activating the new SIM. You can do this by texting ‘MENU’ to 9999 and following the prompts to rate plan change. You will lose any remaining balances you have when you rate plan change. Once you are on Prepaid Epic Data you can perform a SIM replacement and your first $40 recharge will be applied. If you have an Auto-Recharge set up, remember to cancel this.
Q. I’m an existing customer on a different rate plan and I’ve bought this SIM but I don’t want to change my rate plan.
A. If you don’t change your rate plan to Prepaid Epic Data and you activate this SIM you will receive $80 of credit towards your current rate plan.
