Connect5 is inviting filmmakers of all levels to create a short film for the chance to get your talent recognised on an international stage and be in the running to win $30,000 USD. Enter by 1.10.17.
Here’s the brief:
1. Create a short film about this year’s theme: “Connecting Lives”
2. Your clip must be no longer than 5 minutes and you must adhere to the following specs: MPEG4 file (max 5GB)
3. Video Resolution Requirements: minimum 720 x 400 to 1920 x 1080 pixels
4. Audio Format Requirement: 48kHz PCM, MP3, AAC with 16-Bit/s or higher
Submit your film by 1 October 2017.
And that’s it – the rest is up to you.
There are two levels to the competition:
Level 1 – Australian competition
In the Australian competition, our judges will review every entry and award the best two Australian Connect5 entries with:
- $10,000 AUD each
- A trip for two to Singapore so you can compete in November’s regional finals
What’s more, the Aussie Connect5 winners will also get the chance to be seen by the millions of people worldwide who are connected to the Optus and Singtel networks.

Level 2 – Regional competition in Singapore
In the regional competition, the two Australian Connect5 winners will head to Singapore to compete against finalists from four other countries for the chance to win:
- Grand prize of $30,000 USD
- Runner up prize of $15,000 USD

Entries to the Australian competition will be judged by a panel of industry experts including filmmaker and writer Genevieve Clay-Smith who is a Connect5 ambassador and judge.
