Does not look any different  -  still the same selection  of Channels    - if they want to fix the service  they should not continually advertise  Foxtel programs and Channels  that we can't receivie .    in my opinion  Fetch  is owned by Foxtel  if not they don't give a stuff about Fetch customers.

They could  give us a better balance of New Channels  so we can get the Truth  - They should add  RT  & Press TV.

But then Having Fetch TV with the present state of the NBN  is a pain  as you often get the message  before it drops out  Spooling problem check your internet.

Then  if you want a movie you have to choose the day before as they take 3 to 7 hours to download

In busy times (including the whole weekend )can not watch You Tube

So does this mean I will end up paying $5 per month more if I get the ultimate pack, because I get a $15 credit for FetchTv on my bill? It was one of the features of the deal I signed up for.

Many of these channels were included in the standard Fetch. We also added the entertainment pack. Recently MTV Classic was deleted and replaced with a comedy channel.  Now I see it is back but as part of a new pack for $6 per month which contains channels I already have. So $6 basically would only get me Classic and 2 other channels I have never heard of. Is Optus quietly re jigging the Fetch service? And without doing anything to fix the missing youtube issue that has been outstanding more than a year.

Hey Wallet72@ If you're currently subscribed to the entertainment pack you will not be forced to change over to these new channel packs, you will be able to continue to use existing pack as you are. If you would like to change to the new channel packs you will not be able to subscribe back to the old entertainment pack. When changing you will receive a pop up if you unsubscribe from the Entertainment Pack that they will no longer be able to resubscribe. If you do decide to change over and your plan includes the free entertainment pack you will still receive a $15 credit for the ultimate pack, meaning you would need to pay an extra $5 per month.

Hey @Khun_Tilt. Fetch TV control the content and structure of channel packs. If you want to keep your existing entertainment pack you can, just avoid subscribing to any of the new packs as it will automatically convert you over and cannot change back. You should definitely have the YouTube app on your Fetch. Can you please check what firmware version you have via  Menu > Manage > Settings > Device Info, it should be 3.7.6853. Let me know how you go.

Casey it seems your comment is not entirely accurate. The entertainment pack is supposed include MTV Classic. It is listed on the Optus website as included. There are 41 channels listed in the entertainment pack. I get 40 of them but MTV Classic has been removed and placed into a variety pack that I can get for an extra $6 per month. To remove a channel from a pack a customer is already paying for is cheeky enough but the new variety pack contains channels that are still included in the current entertainment pack; so, I would be paying again for channels I am already reveiving and paying for. Technical support in India simply say Fetch has changed the packs. Sorry, not acceptable. Fetch can offer new packs to new customers and existing customers can CHOSE to move across as you say, but your comment that I can simply keep the existing pack and it will bubble along as normal is not true.

Casey, I have checked the firmware it is 3.7.6853, but I do NOT have YouTube. The apps I have are Netflix, Stan, 7 Tennis, NASA TV, Fetch Wiki and Weather.

Best to keep all responses to the one thread → here to avoid double handling. The old Entertainment pack included MTV, MTV Music and MTV Dance and as of the 01/03, MTV Classic was a new channel added. So in total as of 01/03 we have 4 MTV channels for which, the new channel can only be added within the new packs.

I would like the ultimate pack but it wouldnt let me subscribe? Actually I can't get any channels other than free to air even though I'm subscribed to the entertainment pack through my account. Keeps saying not yet connected, been like this for 2 weeks now??

Hi @Casey, I read the above comments you made about only paying $5.00 extra for the ultimate pack if you already have the entertainment pack included with your optus plan.  Ive just joined up to the $110 entertainment plan but pay 90 because i have 2 mobile sims linked to the account.    http://www.optus.com.au/shop/broadband/home-broadband/plans?category=EntertainmentPlan&defaultButton...

I was told on the phone by a representative that i would have to pay the full $20 on top. She didn't seam sure though.  Is this correct?

I would like to get the Ultimate but not payiing a full $20 for it.

Thanks

The old entertainment pack DID include MTV Classic. It was my favourite channelas it had all the oldies I was used to. I watched it all the time. Had it running in the background just to hear all the old tunes. THEN it was deleted a few months ago and replaced with a rubbish Comedy channel.

NOW it appears again on my channel list but with a "S" next to it saying it is a subscription channel, meaning I now have to pay extra for what was once included.

So I jump online to see what exactly the entertainment pack now included, i.e. what else has bee rejigged, and to my surprise, listed in the enetertainment pack is MTV Classic as one of the 41 channels. I get the other 40 no problems, but not this one.

Someone at Optus tells me I should be getting it as they too looked it up and saw it on the list. They put me through to technical who say no it is not included. So a clear conflict between what Optus states on its web site (still ther as of 11:15 am 10 March 2017 as part of the entertainment pack)  and what tech say.

OK. Let's assume it is no an extra. What do I get for my money in the variety pack? Nine channels. But 7 of them are already included in the entertainment pack I have. So for my money I would get MTV Classic - which I used to have anyway - and 13th Street which I have interest in having.

Add to this the confusion where it states above "Once you subscribe to any of the new Premium Channel Packs or the Ultimate Pack, you won’t be able to resubscribe to the Entertainment Pack". So does this mean that if I subscribe to the variety pack I will lose my entertainment pack, i.e. the variety pack will not be added on but will replace it. That is what this wording implies. So not happy having something well used removed and replaced with rubbish. If comedy central is such a good channel why couldn't MTV Classic be left where it was and comedt central added to the variety pack?

AND the mighty box STILL doesn't get YouTube, despite the comment from casey further up this thread!!

Hi

I have been asking for ages for Fox News. All that is offered is CNN, which is so shallow and biased that the news coverage is pathetic. All my requests have been ignored. Do Optus and Fetch care about customers? Anyone out there that would like a broader news channel selection?

Thanks.

CliveD  don't hold your breath  Fetch does not listen to its customers , we are not real people to them  as we are Optus customers  and Optus will not say any thing to them on our Behalf.

@Ronald. You are 100% correct. Optus is Fetch's biggest customer but is totally unwilling to push for whst we want. If it wasn't  for EPL I'd be long gone.

Sad that so many people are frustrated with Optus lack of response, but they simply don't care. Do they not read what people write? I know the Cistome Care team don't care. I have asked so many people about Fox News, run out of ideas on how to get their attention>

Sorry @Pete but you are not correct. The old (original) Entertainment Pack DID definately include MTV Classic. As I have posted elsewhere it was one of my favourite channels. I still have the brochure of channels from when I originally subscribed. It was removed only a few months ago and replaced with Comedy Central. It has now come back but now part of the Variety Pack. So to get it I have to subscribe to this pack when I had it before. I actually shows as of right now, today, this minute, on the Fetch website that MTV Classic is part of the Entertainment Pack. Check it out on http://www.optus.com.au/shop/entertainment/tv-movies/fetch-tv/channels.  Scroll down to Entertainment Pack and click the button see all channels. It is second from bottom in second column. There in all its glory as one of the 41 channels in this Pack. As I have stated earlier I get all the other 40.

As I also pointed out earlier all but two of the channels in the new Variety Pack I already get in the Entertainment Pack so what would I be paying for/ MTV Classic which I used to get and which yuour own web site says I should still get and 13th Street - a channel in which I have no interest looking at its content.

I have also pointed out in another post the comment printed above which says "Once you subscribe to any of the new Premium Channel Packs or the Ultimate Pack, you won’t be able to resubscribe to the Entertainment Pack." This would imply that if I subscribe to the Variety Pack I will lose my entertainment pack and basically be forced to take up the Ultimate pack. I have not received a response on this point as yet.

Hi @CliveD, @Khun_Tilt and @Pal we certainly do care and apologise about the delayed response. Please bear in mind we're not a live chat service and we can be a little slow getting back sometime due to a heavy workload.

As Fetch is not a product we own we're unable to add channels at our discretion however we're happy to pass the feedback on in regards to a broader news selection.

If you upgrade to the Yes TV by Fetch Ultimate Pack (via your set top box), you’ll automatically be unsubscribed from the Entertainment Pack and won’t be able to resubscribe to the Entertainment Pack. The Ultimate Pack includes all of the channels in the Kids, Knowledge, Vibe and Variety Packs. To subscribe to the individual Kids, Knowledge, Vibe or Variety Packs, you will have to unsubscribe from the Entertainment Pack first and then add those packs afterwards.

If you currently have the Entertainment pack included in your plan to upgrade to the Ultimate pack means you will only be charged an additional $5 per month.

For more information please take a look at the FAQ's listed at the bottom of the page here →http://www.optus.com.au/shop/entertainment/tv-movies/fetch-tv/channels.

@PhilC.  I can see the need to have the new channel packs for new subscibers who may feel they do not want, and pay for, the whole entertainment pack. They can now select the pack of their choosing. Fine. But for existing subscribers there shopuld have been no change to the entertainment pack. At all. Just leave it as it is. It is only available to existing subscribers so new subscribvbers are irrelevant. But to remove a channel from the existing entertainment pack and include it in variety pack and offer this new pack to existing subscribers at an additional cost is both insulting and illogical. Of the nine channels in the variety pack 7 are still available in the entertainment pack. Existing subscribers are already getting them so what whould they be paying for? $6 per month for a channel they always had included and should never have been removed. A similar thing has happened with the removal of Cartoon Netwoork from the entertainment pack and its inclusion in the new Kids pack along with Disney Channel, Disney Junior Nickelodeon, Nicj jr, etc tyhat cointinue to be available in the entertainment pack.

Come on Optus. It's time you went to Fetch and said put these channels back into the entertainment pack that people subscribed to. Existing subscribers are not likely to jump to the new variety and kids packs. And new subsribers will not have access to the entertainment pack. So no harm, no foul. No adverse affect to Optus, Fetch or anyone. If there is a maximum number of channels that can fit in a pack (currently the entertainment pack has 40 despite the Optus website saying 41) then I am happy to shed BAby TV, Fashion TV, Al Jazeera or the Christian channel to make room.

This is totally Awsome!!!! na  honest it is ..  if we didnt have congested low bandwidth CVCs to deal with!!!!

you still take our money though!!!!!!

What about fixing the congestion issues by increasing the CVC bandwith in our local CVC's so we can use this service .. this is like taking a kid to a lolly shop and making them look at lick the glass.   its bloody discusting !!!

not happy !!!!!

@CliveDMate Fox news is owned by Rupert Murdoch, as well as Foxtel - hence the same news. You're asking for something owned by the owners of Foxtel - there is no way on Earth Fetch would be able to get it. The same applies for Sky News, which is also owned by Murdoch.

I agree with CNN being Fake News, but unfortunately, it is not possible for anyone else but foxtel to get fox or sky. The only other less worse, but still okay options are BBC and maybe Russia Today. Start a petition to get RT instead!

CliveD cannot agree with you about the BBC  it is one of the worst   I have found the only ones that can be trusted  are  RT  &  Press TV.  & CEC  REPORT  at the present time you can only watch them on line  or You Tube , Foxtel now has the CEC REPORT  but would not hold my breath  with Fetch  adding them  as they are not customer orientated  that is shown by them  feeding you so many Foxtel Adds , advertising  shows and Channels you cannot receive unless you also spend a fortune by having Foxtel  as well  then you pay to duplicate what you receive on Fetch not receive unless you also spend a fortune by having Foxtel  as well  then you pay to duplicate what you receive on Fetch  and being  pay TV  the quantity  and Quality  of   the Advertisers they target  such as the Loan Sharks  (pay day lenders  and  all these New Personnel  loan companies telling you their interest rates are cheaper  or compatible with the Banks  but then they have huge fees as well .

Screw the new channel packs that I already get for free on Foxtel. How about you guys sort out YouTube Access for Fetch TV instead as it's the only reason I got the damn service in the first place and can't use it!

@TezzaP I may just do that mate.. The "only" useful thing on the Fetch TV box that I've got is that it provides me with access to Netflix - I don't recall ever watching anything else on it as I get all their content and more from my Foxtel IQ3.
