Billy has pretty much said it all! This Australia day, we’re partnering up with Uber to deliver to you the Australia Day Backyard Cricket Rules.

Using the Uber app, you can request a free Umpire to come and officiate your Australia Day backyard cricket match.

To participate, you’ll first need to download the Uber app and register an account if you haven’t already. Then simply open the app, select your location and request a UberUMPIRE using the toggle at the bottom of the screen.

If there’s already a dispute in the backyard before your UberUMPIRE gets there (or if one isn’t available as they’re going to be very popular), don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Simply download the rule book below, find the appropriate rule and then get back to playing cricket. Or, as the rule book states, refer to the third umpire aka Mum.

Umpires are available 11am to 3pm in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide and will preside over approximately 3 overs or 30 minuets. We can't guarantee everyone who requests an umpire will get one, as they're going to be really popular.
