When a new Android Operating System update is announced by Google there are a few steps that take place before it becomes ready for your device. The manufacturer receives the update and customises the software for the device and mobile carriers in each country. Once this is completed they’ll send the update to the carriers for testing.

For more info on this process check out our page:

Android Device Updates - What's The Process?

The below table provides information on the latest Android updates we’ve received for testing and approval as of  07/06/2018. If no information is listed, it means we haven't received the build or any new details from the manufacturer.

When a version is marked as completed it means testing has been finished on our end and approved.  Each manufacturer has a process for releasing updates to devices and once we approve the update, it’s sent back to the manufacturer to be released through their standard update processes. Generally, updates are rolled out progressively, for example the manufacturers might make the update available for a small number of users (i.e. 5%) initially; then if no unforeseen problems pop up, it’ll gradually be made available to more and more users over the following weeks.

I commented that even verizon has s7 edge oreo update . no excusez optus.  the admin on here decided to enail me, delete my.post and then proceed to blame me for posting to a old post. Thank goodness my plan runs out soon as without oreo im stuck in the past.

@shammo99 You do understand Optus have no power over what Samsung do right? Samsung have the power to decide what country or region gets the update first. Its what you call a "rolling update". Optus dont have the Oreo update, No carrier in Australia does yet. Blaming a company for things they have no control over is crazy. Yes USA have the update, Which is an indication that we may get it within the next few days to a week. Be patient and just appreciate what you have now and stop shaming a company that cant control what Samsung does

wow 2nd post .. pack mentality.  optus can do something and choose not to. you can scream at me with 10 line posts but fact remains.. Samsung has released it and optus choose which handsets they give priority. uk and other countries have it on s7...

so get your reply and stick it.

believe what you want, but its not rolled out everywhere. Only 2 countries so far have had it rolled out and completed. Samsung go Country by Country or Region by Region. Makes for a smoother, more simpler rollout. If samsung were to roll out the update to everyone at once, it would cause major issues on their side and crash the servers due to the load. As i said, Optus dont have the update. I have checked both Vodafone and Telstra and even they dont have it, indicating it is not released here yet. Just quit shaming a company who cant control this. Stop being an inpatient person and enjoy what you have until its released. Dont like what Samsung are doig, move to Apple

u can believe what u want.. facts are facts. samsung released it.

optus get 200 of my pay each month and  i know they do this to force people onto new handsets.

it was released last year .. and yep had a few issues but in the end.. optus is turning into telstea trying to force upgrades. only takes an optus exec to call a samsung exex ... its business and u can stop making excuses.

@shammo99 Do a little research before you go crazy, "Samsung halts international Galaxy S7 Oreo rollout due to random reboots". Other phones on Optus have it but they have differnet hardware so different drivers and bloatware that don't pair up with the S7 hardware. Other telco's are saying the same thing, changing to one of them won't do you any good. You could always risk the warrenty and root it if you really can't wait but I did read that it was meant to come mid-may but I'm guessing because they had to fix a major bug it'll be a few weeks late.
"Only takes an optus exec to call a samsung exec ... its business and u can stop making excuses." if you knew anything at all about business and/or technology you would know that's not at all how things work. I have no idea how you could even think that's at all a possiblilty of it being so simple.
