Latest Android updates

When a new Android Operating System update is announced by Google there are a few steps that take place before it becomes ready for your device. The manufacturer receives the update and customises the software for the device and mobile carriers in each country. Once this is completed they’ll send the update to the carriers for testing.

For more info on this process check out our page:

Android Device Updates - What's The Process?

The below table provides information on the latest Android updates we’ve received for testing and approval as of the 07/02/2019. If no information is listed, it means we haven't received the build or any new details from the manufacturer.

When a version is marked as completed it means testing has been finished on our end and approved.  Each manufacturer has a process for releasing updates to devices and once we approve the update, it’s sent back to the manufacturer to be released through their standard update processes. Generally, updates are rolled out progressively, for example the manufacturers might make the update available for a small number of users (i.e. 5%) initially; then if no unforeseen problems pop up, it’ll gradually be made available to more and more users over the following weeks.

Hi all, just want to share what info I have

1) mate 20 pro purchased from jbhifi has version 183

2) I contacted huawei support regarding Optus firmware upgrade issue. First reply from huawei  was that 122 is already the lastest version for Australia. I told them that it's incorrect because 183 has been realeased in Australia. Second reply was that 122 is the current version for optus customers.

I think it means that huawei didn't release the new firmware to Optus? Not to sure if we need to blame optus. But obviously optus is bad at communicating with customer regarding this problem

@Zxie8 Optus definitely have later firmware than .122.

According to what they've they had .146, .183 and now they have .188.

can't edit on this damn thing..

If .146 was tested and ready for release then my question is how can Alistar say that .146 was abandoned because it wasn't suitable for Optus? Why did they even complete testing if it wasn't suitable? This is contradictory information. How is anyone meant to believe what optus say.

To be a good liar you need to have an excellent memory. Someone tell Optus that..

@Jesseg8 if you are looking to get a swap I can send you the details of the customer resolution officer who has contacted me regarding the tio complaint. She did make an offer to cancel my contract back in early January, but I couldn't be without a phone, so that wasn't suitable.

@Optus @Alistar @Dan_C FYI New global firmware 9.0.0.201 is now rolling out. Maybe you could pur this down as being tested on the blog, of course you'd be lying as with all the previous versions you supposedly tested 😂😂

@Zxie8 what model of mate 20 pro as I've only seen lya l29 in my local jb hifi. This is a different model and is the main model that FH use which is not entirely compatible with lya l09.

@Dazkatmaka11 huawei have contacted me 3 times over in regards to a enquiry I've made. I've lodged TWO official complaints via the optus complaints website and have yet to receive a call
