Latest Android updates

When a new Android Operating System update is announced by Google there are a few steps that take place before it becomes ready for your device. The manufacturer receives the update and customises the software for the device and mobile carriers in each country. Once this is completed they’ll send the update to the carriers for testing.

For more info on this process check out our page:

Android Device Updates - What's The Process?

The below table provides information on the latest Android updates we’ve received for testing and approval as of the 04/04/2019. If no information is listed, it means we haven't received the build or any new details from the manufacturer.

When a version is marked as completed it means testing has been finished on our end and approved. Each manufacturer has a process for releasing updates to devices and once we approve the update, it’s sent back to the manufacturer to be released through their standard update processes. Generally, updates are rolled out progressively, for example the manufacturers might make the update available for a small number of users (i.e. 5%) initially; then if no unforeseen problems pop up, it’ll gradually be made available to more and more users over the following weeks.

Do you have any update on when 9.0 is going to make its way to the Galaxy S9?

Yeah still waiting on 9.0.0.212. Few users received wrong firmware and optus has cut communication going on nearly week and a half now.

Galaxy S9 has already had the 9.0 update pushed out as per this update - https://yescrowd.optus.com.au/t5/Blog/Android-Software-Updates-29-01-2019/ba-p/528750

@scusack come on mate you're asking them to actually keep track. They can't even get a firmware rollout to all relevant customers on the mate 20 pro let alone remember that they rolled out 9.0 and one ui to one of their biggest customer base samsung

@SteveV , I did an online chat with Huawei because I wasn't getting the update. After giving my serial and build number they said there was an update waiting for me. Tech support was looking into why. That was weeks ago.

I should point out I upgraded to .210 using @Xalies method... Wonder if this has something to do with it or the firmware loaded was custom instead of stock rom.

I wonder if the mate 20 pro not being received is like when we had the update for the mate 10 pro.

Had to clear the cache for the Hicare app then go in to update on the app and authorise the update then look at system update in settings.

It might work or might not.

I was going to mention that my S9 was updated to Android 9.0 months ago on Virgin, then saw a post above confirming same on Optus. I’m in the process of porting all my services over to Optus at the moment. Is it possible to use something like Samsung Smart Switch to update devices before a carrier rolls them out over the air? (Our devices are all unlocked)
