Android Software Updates

When a new Android Operating System update is announced by Google there are a few steps that take place before it becomes ready for your device. The manufacturer receives the update and customises the software for the device and mobile carriers in each country. Once this is completed they’ll send the update to the carriers for testing.

For more info on this process check out our page:

Android Device Updates - What's The Process?

The below table provides information on the latest Android updates we’ve received for testing and approval as of the 18/04/2019. If no information is listed, it means we haven't received the build or any new details from the manufacturer.

When a version is marked as completed it means testing has been finished on our end and approved. Each manufacturer has a process for releasing updates to devices and once we approve the update, it’s sent back to the manufacturer to be released through their standard update processes. Generally, updates are rolled out progressively, for example the manufacturers might make the update available for a small number of users (i.e. 5%) initially; then if no unforeseen problems pop up, it’ll gradually be made available to more and more users over the following weeks.

So when are you guys going to change your post to display the correct OS for the S9 and S9+? You done it for the S8, S8+ and the S10 models. Whats with the delay on the S9? Its been months now and you guys have again failed to acknowledge this error.

So, Android 9 upgrade was completed 1.05.19 and now 9.0.1 is the "Current" operating system for Official Optus Mate 9's.

So when are Official Optrus Mate 9's actually going to recieve the download.

After 3 delayed approval dates stretching over months and now some 7 days after approval, I and several people I communicate with still have received Zip; Zilch .. nothing.

Would be wonderful to get an official comment from Optus staff for once, when we make an enquiry, please.

Yeah I got the update too but my girlfriend didnt.

Is it selected users only? It seems to be taking a while to update to devices.

I got the .261 update as well. Killed NFC. So trying to work out how to fix it. If others have same problem and a solution that would be great.

Huawei firmware finder has both the Vodafone and Optus firmware's in their repository, but for some reason we are not getting them.

I tried manually downloading but fails at 97%

Frustrating.

If you check in Firmware finder

If you check the IMEI in firmware finder for the mate 9 Huawei still haven't approved it which is why you can't install or not getting OTA updates

When Optus say it's complered, it doesn't mean your going to get it anytime soon.

Seems Huawei are going to slowly release in batches according to imei numbers.

A pain I know, but what can you do?

@Spr3  I did a manual installation of 239 with April Sec Patch and my NFC is fine, but I have read on XDA developers others in a different region had a similar issue and a factory reset and fresh install of apps fixed the issue, you can restore your data though.
