First up it’s Elf. The festively feel-good film starring comic genius Will Ferrell of Anchorman and Step Brothers fame. The story begins on Christmas Eve when an orphan baby named Buddy (later played by Will Ferrell), crawls into Santa's sack of prezzies and is taken to the North Pole. Buddy is raised by Papa Elf (Bob Newhart) but soon comes to realise that he doesn't fit in with the other elves. Determined to find a place where he belongs, Buddy travels to New York City to search for his real dad and attempts to spread as much festive cheer as possible in the process.

Is it even Christmas unless the whole family sits down to watch Love Actually together? We don’t think so. This film is synonymous with the holidays as it follows the lives of eight very different couples dealing with love and loss in various interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England. If you haven’t seen this one yet (cman, really?), you’re in for a treat.
