Why have I been charged a handset fee after my contract ended?

I canceled my contract after the 24 month period but was charged $40 for a 'handset fee'.

 

Surely the handset is paid in full within the 24 month period?

 

Can anyone clarify.

Your montly invoice will have a count for hardware e.g.

 

Samsung s8 3 of 24 remaining etc.

 

So check the previous month and see what the count is.

Hi Alicia679,


How much were you paying for the phone each month? if it happened to be $40 then it indicates there was one payment remaining if you cancelled right after the contract had ended, perhaps you received a pro-rated first bill for a few days which didn't have the first monthly handset fee on there.
