I pre-ordered mine on the 17th of September and I'm still waiting (64GB XS Max Gold). I also got given the "we will put your order through as priority", which I'm guessing they're telling everyone! So frustrating. I get that there is high demand for this, it's just annoying having to chase for updates and getting any no clarification as to an estimated ship date (despite being told I would have my phone on October 4 back when I ordered it). I could go in to an Optus store right now and pick up one right away, but last time I did this I had a world of problems and was charged for two handsets etc.

I placed the order through Optus as well for the same phone. Waited till today and I cancelled. 

Went to Apple store and placed order through Optus carrier. Now I have new phone next to me which is not even opened yet. 

Check your closest store for availability.
