Re: how to turn off a teenager's phone

You can ring Optus and request they turn off mobile data and calls to the phone. Then again to turn it back on. However there's no way to stop them just using free wifi or a hotspot from their mates.

I'd be inclined to take his phone of them for a week or three. Despite the modern day mindset they're not essential despite time off snap chat seeming so to your teen.

You could always threaten to replace there phone with something like this

Peter's suggestion is probably best. We can block incoming/outgoing calls,SMS and data from our end.

@KXMUM

We can also suspend services for a set period of time. There's a small suspension fee, but you won't have to pay your regular monthly cost. You'll just need to message the team.

Select, Personal Mobile General & Billing

You'll then to contact us again to remove the suspension from your service.
