Transfer of ownership wasn’t successful

Myself and my father have completed a transfer of ownership in which I kept my phone number. I got a text from OPTUS saying that it was successful and another one saying that my phone service was activated. However tonight I looked at my phone and it said it was SOS only and now It’s like I don’t have a sim in my phone. I can’t make any calls or receive any texts. Do I have to re register my number on my phone or what has happened? Thanks in advance
