Can I use a Firewire to USB adaptor for Target Disk Mode?
Hi all, My refurb Mac Pro 5.1 will no longer boot into any mode apart from Target Disk Mode and the Boot Selection menu. I believe that means I should try reinstalling the OS from an external recovery drive - but I'm curious to know if in the worst case scenario, I can still retrieve some files from the last few days using Target Disk Mode and connecting with a 2015 Macbook pro. However, the Mac pro only has Firewire ports and the Macbook pro only has Thunderbolt ports. Therefore, can I purchase a Thunderbolt to USB adaptor and use this with the Macbook for Target Disk Mode?

I think this is probably a question for Apple. I’m not sure there would be any official Optus support for any of this.
