I just purchased a Sony TV and a new Optus plan that included Optus sport. I registered for Optus Sport but I want to know precisely how I can set it up and watch it on my TV?
Solved! Solved: Go to Solution.
I don't think Optus Sport is available on Sony TVs.
here are some supported devices
Get a chromecast would be the cheapest way
@keithinoz thank you for the update. I think the Sony Tv running androidtv OS has Chromecast build-in as standard. So it should work without needing to purchase a chromecast device.
Hi @JED_Forum what is the model of the Sony TV? It is connected to the internet? Are you able to cast a Youtube video to it?
Ah, I’ve got a Sony KD-65X7500D and I was casting ok from Netflix on my iPhone to test... but YouTube also didn’t work. I uninstalled the GoogleCast update on the tv and the Optus and YouTube worked again... not sure why the latest update wouldn’t work but the original would?
I found the sony android tv can be glitchy at time. Few things can happen with the new update.
1. Internal code changes that might break the content protection codes.
2. Internal code changes making the code module link broken for other apps(optus, youtube)
3. Failed update, or partial update.
If it is working then I would leave it as it is and maybe do an update with the next version or wait until youtube and optus app also have an update too to match with the chromecast update.
I found a separate chromecast dongle is more stable than Chromecast built in. Saying that my Nvidia Shield Chromecast build in is working great. Maybe it is how Sony implementing Android TV.
