Yes , it is now seems to be mid to late Feb
See the link below.
By the way Optus is still playing here , yesterday the page said TBA. Someone has updated it this morning to say Mid Feb after I have lodged a complaint with TOI. I have a screen shot to show this. I would be highly surprised if Optus can do any release by Mid Feb....
@Rahullamba That would be a miracle, there's no way on earth this is going to be ready mid to late February, it's states.183 which has been scrapped, they are going to be working on .188 and as of Friday they hadn't received the firmware version from Huawei.
Just a quick history of how Optus has been just conviniently changing the Mate 20 pro update message but not actually doing anything on ground...
07-12-2018 : On Hold, current release 126
21-12-2018 : Testing release 146, expected mid January
07-01-2019: Release 146, Late January, current release 126
29-01-2019: Release 146, Late January, current release 126
07-02-2019:TBA Release 183 ( 146 never came), current release 126.
Above detials are from following Optus links
Here's the message I got on Friday What is the bet in 3 weeks that .188 did not meet Optus requirements.
For Australian carriers, Huawei will release MR every 2 months. They do not know the release details until about 1 month before the release. They have skipped .146 and .183 because they did not meet Optus requirements. We are going to get .188 for testing which is the later version than .183. The only way for the customer to get .183 is to buy an open market handset.
It's now late Feb and I'm hanging for the security and camera update.
If Optus doesn't want to support the phone then then they should letnyou exit the contract unbrand your phone.
@fusion9 We have already concluded in this forum that its surely not going to happen in Feb. Optus have not met even a single committed date on the release date for last 4 months. Unfortunatly regulators TIO aren't interested. I have raised the issue with them twice and following is their latest response
" TIO does not have jurisdiction over a service provider’s procedures processes as these are commercial decisions made by the service provider. This means that TIO cannot compel Optus to keep the phone software up to date as per OEM release.
Because your complaint is about this issue, we cannot continue handling your complaint and we will not be taking this matter further."
I am feeling so much cheated by Optus on this but not sure what to do. Its an expensive phone...Its just started and still has 2 more years to go 🙂
and now "
Build : LYA - L09 - 184.108.40.206
Estimated testing completion timeframe: 1st of March 2019 "
umm ok Optus... what was wrong with the last two updates you "tested" 220.127.116.11, 18.104.22.168
The Optus Mate 20 pro firmware and The Australian Prime Minister have something in common. They both promise to be The Choose One. But that changes frequently.
